Balloons, balloons, balloons make me happy

An oldie but goodie from the O-dogg Blog archives:

Balloons, balloons, balloons make me happy ... they cheer you up ... when you're feeling kind of sad. Balloons, balloons, balloons I love you ...

She's my Talahassee Lassie

I heard this song for the first time last night watching a very disturbing movie, Dahmer, about the disgusting exploits of Jeffrey Dahmer. This track was featured during a scene where Dahmer is dancing around his apartment with a young victim, a very big knife and a skeleton. Freaky stuff.

Here's a much better version from the original artist, Freddie Cannon. As an added bonus, we get an introduction from the great Andy Kaufman who convinces Cannon to let him play the bongos. I'm hoping this much more innocent version of the song erases the memory of Dahmer looking to feast on another prey.

This is 1950s Rockabilly gold, complete with white shoes and polyester pants. The music starts at 1:15 into the video. Enjoy.

New Wonder Woman - Adrianne Palicki

I'm a fan of Adrianne Palicki, she did good work on NBC's Friday Night Lights.

That said, I think I will strongly prefer the old-school Lynda Carter Wonder Woman from the 70s.

I wish the new show luck, but I don't see it lasting with the absolute failure of live action superhero stuff on TV lately: Heroes, No Ordinary Family and The Cape all flamed out. This genre is best left for actual comics, cartoons and big-budget movies ... not 30-minute TV.

Unknown Cap Cartoon Title Sequence

Found this on YouTube. I guess it's a cartoon that never got made. Too bad.

WE COULD'VE HAD IT ALL - Adele

Big woman, big voice, big soul, big heart, big everything. She sounds like a throwback to blues singers from the turn of the century Louisiana, you know what I mean? This is like some Nina Simone, stuff here.

I'm SOOO Hungry

It's torturous, to crave the things you really want ... especially during Lent. I was hungry on Ash Wednesday, I ate and ate on Thursday and now it's a no meat Friday, and I am so deeply famished again.

I feel like I'm starving, even though I know how well off I am and how good my life is. And yet, I want more. Giving things up for Lent, and life in general, is painful. Oh the humanity!

Someday, if I'm lucky enough to get to heaven, I will want for nothing, for everything will be there waiting for me. The hard part is suffering through this human existence of flesh and blood until that fateful day when I learn my fate for the rest of eternity.

Who's Your Daddy?

Christopher Walken is, that's who!

New Blade Runner movies & other media in works!

SO ... MUCH ... WIN. A production company has purchased the rights to Blade Runner and intends to do move movies, perhaps a prequel, a sequel, or both.

IF they can do it right, and treat the source material (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by the great Philip K. Dick) with respect, then I am down with this. I understand the producers are trying to get Batman director Christopher Nolan - that would be huge.

There is a danger to overdo this with too much material: a tv show that morphs into a CGI cartoon, that morphs into a videogame, that morphs into a lunch box, or a happy meal.

I think the perfect mix is one prequel + one sequel, supported by comic book and novel adaptations, maybe some videogames, plus some high-end collectibles. That's it. No TV Shows, no coloring books.

THE RED SKULL!

I love it! Sinister. Black leather. An evil Nazi. A formidable villain for Captain America.

The Jordan IX's are back in the mix

So much win! I've been waiting and waiting to replace this pair in this exact color since back in 1994. It's been a long wait, and soooo worth it. What's old is new again. Best pair of shoes ... ever!
