New actors join Captain America, and THE AVENGERS

Jeremy Renner from The Hurt Locker as Hawkeye in The Avengers, alongside Cap, Hulk, Iron Man and Thor ... oh please, let this be true:

Jeremy Renner may be close to locking a deal to star as Clint Barton, AKA Hawkeye, in Joss Whedon's The Avengers, reports Heat Vision.

Since last year, rumors have persisted that Marvel has been after the star of The Hurt Locker to play the character, though official sources would not confirm that Hawkeye even has a role in the upcoming summer blockbuster, much less actor selection.

Renner talked exclusively with SuperHeroHype late last year, indicating that, while he'd love to join the Marvel Universe in some capacity, the film was too far off and, at the time, didn't even have a director. It appears that, with Joss Whedon now on board and pre-production moving forward, Renner may become an official member of the team yet.

Also, Dum Dum Dugan is cast in Cap movie:

Neal McDonough may be the latest name to join the Marvel Universe, in talks to star as Dum Dum Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger, according to Deadline.

McDonough is no stranger to the Marvel Universe, having voiced the character of Dr. Bruce Banner in the 1996 Incredible Hulk cartoon series, but is best known for appearances in Minority Report, Star Trek: First Contact and as Dave Williams in the fifth season of Desperate Housewives.

Dugan, in the comic book series, is the right-hand man to Nick Fury and his team, the Howling Commandoes, a military division of S.H.I.E.L.D. He is characterized by a bowler hat and a large mustache and, like the real-life McDonough, hails from Massachusetts.
