Oh Happy Day

I feel like crap and think I have a fever; I'm laying on the couch watching a never-ending loop of History Channel specials on the 2012 Prophecy and the end of the world. Yay! What a fun day this has turned out to be: let it be marked in the anals of history.

Al Davis: bring Donovan McNabb to Oakland ... NOW!

I don't care if we have to give up CB Nnamdi Asomugha to get the best available QB on the market. Do it! I'd hate to lose Nnamdi for all that he stands for as a person on and off the field, but we gots to get this done, Raidernation. If we can pluck CB Assante Samuel out of Philly in the same trade to back fill for Nnamdi, I make this trade yesterday.

'Nuff said, true believers.

Say hello to the new Captain America: Chris Evans

SOURCE: Variety, Yahoo News

Chris Evans ("Fantastic Four" films) has accepted Marvel Studios' offer for him to play Steve Rogers/Captain America in the Joe Johnston-directed The First Avenger: Captain America. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote the script.

Marvel would not comment on the development, but we expect the official announcement will be made soon.
The deal calls for Evans to star in at least three Captain America movies, with the first hitting theaters on July 22, 2011.

He would reprise the role in The Avengers, which will united Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the Incredible Hulk (Edward Norton) in one film. That film is scheduled for May 4, 2012. The character also will likely make cameo appearances in Marvel's other films.

Hugo Weaving will play the villain Red Skull in The First Avenger: Captain America.
O-dogg's Take: Finally! Let's get on with it already. At first I was apprehensive about Evans because he was already so well established as The Human Torch in the so-so Fantastic 4 movies. Since the Fan-4 will probably get a re-boot, this leaves Evans open to play Cap. Of all the rumored actors, he seems like the best available choice - he fits the look, he's young, American and not afraid to wear blue tights. //Whistling://When Captain America throws his mighty shield ...

The People's Champion Speaks - Victorious Old Man from Oakland Bus Fight

This is amusing, funny and sad all at the same time. What a man this guy is - even with his new found fame he's not too proud to cry about the death of his mother, or that he did time in prison for "pimpin' and sellin' drugs after I came back from Vietnam; I was crazy." I hope he benefits from this somehow and gets those Stacy Adams shoes he wanted to wear to his mama's funeral. He deserves it.
