What's up with Kate Winslet, might she pop up on Desperate Housewives?
I finally got around to watching Revolutionary Road ... suppose I should've known what I was getting myself into with Kate Winslet in the lead role.
Winslet picks up right where she left off in movies like Little Children and The Reader: playing a desperate, lonely, tortured soul of a woman. It's getting a bit depressing watching her movies, but she's too talented and convincing to ignore. It's like a train wreck in slow motion ... pass the popcorn and soda, please.
In Revolutionary Road, she re-unites with Leo DiCaprio for a 1950s era movie about an unhappy couple, stuck in the rut of suburban family life. There is a mysterious neighbor, an easy secretary, a family friend from a Psych Ward, a rubbery balloon-looking thing and two children that are hardly in the movie at all. You fill in the blanks ...
