Disappointment: a permanent state of mind in the RaiderNation

Welcome to the Raiders, Darrius Heyward-Bey. You are the newest incarnation of WR James Jett: fast, one dimensional, questionable hands, over-paid and a favorite of Al Davis, President of the General Partners at Oakland Raiders, Inc.

I'm not surprised by this draft pick, but I am still disappointed with it. The NFL is a league with a salary cap and where you have to get max value and max roster depth with the dollars available to spend on player salaries. Now we're paying this year's first and second round salaries when we probably could've picked the same guys later, and paid them much lower second and sixth round salaries. Guess what? That leaves the Raiders with less money available to spend on other players, thus less quality, less value and less depth on the roster.

It's a vicious cycle with the Raiders. Overspend on big names, low 40 times and wide bodies that look good coming off the bus.
