Paranormal State on A&E Channel ... Spooky Good

True believers: I'm sure you're well aware of A&E's Paranormal State, but if you missed the latest one-hour special, catch a re-run on your DVR ASAP!

The 60-minute special was a chilling, up-close look at an actual exorcism of a 26-year-old woman. This was far more interesting than the normal haunted house fare that we get in the usual 30-minute format. This episode was less about college kids with techy gadgets, recording paranormal activity and was more about the celestial conflict of good and evil, as told through a God vs. The Devil filter.

I give Paranormal State very high marks for not straying away from such a daring show. So many people won't touch organized religion-based entertainment with a 10-foot pole, but Ryan Buel and his posse just go for it ... and go for it with gusto.

In a recent show, they stepped outside of the norm and did a show about UFO activity at a ranch in the Pacific Northwest. The video they shot captured an actual UFO performing a super-bright-light "power up." Frakin' awesome stuff.

For this reason, Paranormal State has been firmly ensconced in my pantheon of favorite shows, including: Battlestar Galactica, UFO Hunters, Terminator-Sarah Connor Chronicles, Family Guy, The Office, Chuck, Heroes, FNL, SNL, LOST and HBO's Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Flight of the Conchords.
