C-Webb back in Oaktown!

I'm smiling very wide right now. I am Michigan Man and an Oakland man. When Chris Webber and Charles Woodson left Oakland, it broke my heart. To have Webber back (he should've never left) makes the circle complete and now I can break out my #4 jersey again. If Woodson returns to the silver and black to play safety in his last year or two ... all will be good. If only Marcus Allen and Tim Brown had retired as Raiders ... if only Jose Canseco ... ahh, never mind. Go Blue! Let's Go Oakland!

Captain America lives again!

Well, he's back. My favorite fictional hero was killed off and now the editorial team has given his uniform to another man ... and a new uniform. It's clearly still Captain America, still recognizable. The shield is unchanged - the stars and stripes still intact. I could've done without the wings on the head and the buccaneer boots, but hey, gotta keep some details the same, I guess.

No doubt millions of fans will scream and rant about the change. The uniform change was going to happen eventually ... there is a Captain America movie coming out within 2 years and the old uniform just wasn't going to cut it on the silver screen.

I wouldn't mind this so much if Marvel Comics would've kept the original man under the mask, Steve Rogers, around. Instead they've killed him off and given the mantle to Steve's old WWII partner, James "Bucky" Buchanon. Problem is Bucky was supposedly killed during WWII and now he's back, brainwashed, with a cyborg robot arm. That's my problem - what's more believable, bringing Steve Rogers back, or robot-psycho-Bucky back?

One other thing ... man, that new suit is shiny ...

Thank you, Lloyd Carr - Michigan 41, Florida 35

Wow. What a win. Lloyd Carr goes out a winner in a huge bowl game over an SEC opponent, Henne & Arrington have career days that will launch their careers into the NFL and we beat up that fraud of a Heisman winner, Tim "Fullback" Tebow.

The only thing that went wrong was Mike Hart's 2 fumbles at the goal line that took 14 points off the board in a total victory over Florida. Our kicker made 2 big kicks, theirs got one blocked. Offense, defense, special teams. Check, check, check. Lloyd, Henne, Tebow trashed. Check, check, check.

It was so satisfying to beat the defending National Champs and put Tebow's crotch in the dirt play after play. I hate his game. I hate his wobbly throws and ugly delivery. Look at Henne, there is a future NFL passer. Sorry Tebow, unless you want to play blocking fullback, you don't have a chance in the NFL. Running QBs are for Tom Osborne's Nebraska Teams of the 80s and 90s, not the league that plays on Sundays.

In the end, this isn't about Tebow or Florida. It's Michigan's day to shine in the sun as it fades over Lloyd Carr's career. Tomorrow, we begin the Rich Rodriguez era in 2008 and beyond.

Hail to the Victors!

'Nuff said.
